Through funding from the Yorkshire Dales Millenium Trust the trust has commissined a PhD project looking into catchment scale factors that are depleting in-stream ecology, with brown trout as a bio-indicator, using the upper Ure catchment (wesleydale, North Yorkshire) as the case study. The ulitmate aim is to better inform land management and possible restoration efforts to ensure limited resources are directed efficiently.
